Do you take students with IEPs/English Language Learners?

We consider every type of student! There are three ICT Teachers, one ENL teacher, and two Social Workers here to support your education. We adapt the curriculum to ensure every student learns. You also do not need to be documented to attend the school.

How does the school address conflict and wrongdoing?

We use restorative practices to teach students to make better choices, and have a full-time Restorative and Transformative Justice Coordinator on staff. It allows them to practice the skills to address the underlying reasons for possible misbehavior - what caused them to misbehave and how can they learn new skills to prevent the misbehavior? When conflict or wrongdoing occurs, we seek consequences for actions that allow the person who did harm to take responsibility, to have cool off time to think about their actions, to make amends to the person harmed and the community, and to learn from his/her mistakes.

What are the school hours? What does a typical schedule look like?

The official school day starts at 8:50am, and ends at 3:10pm. Breakfast is served starting at 7:30am, and lunch is from 12-12:45pm.

Students will have four 70 minute classes, and one 45 minute Family Group. We are on a cycle schedule, so courses will change every 10 weeks.

Is there an out-to-lunch policy?

Yes, all students earn the out-to-lunch privilege based on their academics and punctuality.

What if I work or have kids?

We will work with your schedule to figure out something that will all you to be successful and earn your diploma. We also have a LYFE Center in the building, children age 6 weeks to 4 years (not in Pre-K yet) are eligible to receive free daycare while the parent attends classes!
